How do you make the complicated Huurrecht more understandable?
Our intern Chislaine Jugwels shows her overwhelming blueprint to be able to help tenants better through Adapting. In the work with migrant workers, I see too often that their vulnerable position in the tenant market is abused. Bad housing, high rents, lack of rent protection, and so on. The legal profession can only tackle a few excesses. Good information and low-threshold services can help many more tenants on their way to trapping rogue landlords themselves. I have been working with Mark van Dorp for two years to convert concrete rights, conditions and legal processes into a flow chart. We then translate this structure into a digital, interactive form that easily helps users to gain insight into their problem and the solutions. In collaboration with the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, we offer internships to students so that they offer tailor-made solutions to people who need it most in concrete practical problems with #legaltech. It is very inspiring to see that talents like Chislaine want to sink their teeth...
